This special napkin ring was made by the association Tejedoras Juanita (ASTEJU) consisting of 250 women, mainly single mothers, from the municipality of Sandoná - Nariño. For these women, their work is essential, as it is the only source of income for their families. These mothers are also heiresses of this special craftsmanship that has been passed down from generation to generation. With a lot of dedication, they elaborately weave the iraca (leaves of the Panama palm) into various products by hand. For them, this is not just a craft. Their dreams and personal and family goals are also intertwined in each product.
